OGA Dota PIT Minor in Split kicks off

For the next week, Spaladium arena is home of OGA Dota PIT Minor which will feature some of the best teams around the world. Eight teams will fight for a prize pool of $300,000 and Pro Circuit points. On top of bagging $125,000, the winner will also qualify for MDL Disneyland Paris Major. 

Format:

- two groups with four teams
- bo3 round-robin format
- playoffs - double-elimination
- lower bracket round 1-3 are bo1, grand finals bo5, rest is bo3

The first day offered many surprises. In group A, RNG reversed the series against NiP, winning 2-1, while BOOM ID shocked Gambit Esports with the identical score. In group B, Alliance had a strong start to the tournament, beating Chinese EHOME. The second game of the series went on for 71 minutes, with Alliance closing the series 2-0. The biggest surprise of the tournament was certainly the last match of the day, in which Peruan Majestic Esports overcame Forward Gaming 2-1. How surprising this result actually was, stated the fact that the bookmakers gave Majestic only north of 10% chance of winning the series.
