The new champion to grace the Summoner’s Rift, Yuumi, was teased on the 25th of April, in a teaser released by Riot. The video showed the Book of Thresholds, which already showed a major element in the Champion’s lore and playstyle. Not much was to be expected regarding the Champion itself, as the teaser itself didn’t provide the Summoners with a whole lot of information about the upcoming Yordle.
The second video, released just the day after on the 26th, finishes the picture. In the trailer, we get to meet Yuumi: The Magical Cat. Although the teaser already confirmed the book’s integral part in the Champion, a whole lot more was left to be discovered.
Yuumi is a Yordle support, joining the Yordle-ranks of Lulu, Poppy and Tristana, among others. In order to understand how Yuumi works, however, I would argue that watching the Champion trailer (which you’ll find above) will tell you a whole lot more than me talking about it.
The kit, as it’s been revealed by Riot, is as follows:
Passive – Bop ‘n’ Block
Q – Prowling Projectile
While Attached, Yuumi fires a missile from her ally’s position and can direct the missile’s flight path with her mouse.”
W – You and Me!
Active: Yuumi starts with a point in her W. She dashes to an ally champion and attaches to them. While Attached, she follows her partner’s movement and is untargetable by everything except tower damage. Yuumi’s abilities fire from her ally’s location, and she can’t attack enemies. She can Unattach after a cooldown or Attach to another teammate with no cooldown.”
E – Zoomies
R – Final Chapter

I, for one am thrilled to see a new support coming into the game, and I will be sure to patch my game quickly as soon as she is released on the 14th of May! What are your thoughts on Yuumi? Do you like her style? Are you happy to see a new support in the game, or would you have liked to see the new Champion in another position? Be sure to let us know!
